Jack Hawes 1916 - Jack played the piano from the age of five and the organ from the moment his legs were long enough to reach the pedals. He was a boy chorister at St. Mary-le-Tower church, Ipswich from the age of ten and later played the cello too. Despite a thorough musical education, he pursued a career in insurance only devoting his full attention to his music in his long and very productive retirement. Sadly, Jack no longer enjoys good health and is now in a nursing home. |
