PPS024 THE SUN WILL SHINE Opus 86 by GORDON DALE

The title is a quote from  W.H. Davies which has both literal and metaphorical significance. On a literal level the music begins in mist, becomes brighter before giving way to warm sunshine. Metaphorically, the relieving of tension, solution of problems and the coming of inner peace. It was sketched on the banks of the River Wye in September 1983 and written for the inaugural concert of the Staffordshire Chamber Orchestra in February 1984 when it was given two performances. “,, an attractive piece - short, lyrical, appealing and effectively laid out. It should find a ready place in the repertoire of school and other amateur orchestras.” (Staffordshire Evening Sentinel). 8 mins.30s.

Scores for 1;2;2;2:2;0;0;0 & strings.
